About the role
Robotics Software Engineer | Manipulation & Control
Build robots that move with precision in the real world
We're looking for a senior Robotics Engineer to own the real-time control and estimation systems behind precise robotic manipulation. This is a hands-on, hardware-first role: you'll build the closed-loop system that turns live sensor data into precise robot arm motion — state estimation, MPC, trajectory correction, all in hard real-time C++, running on physical robots, not simulation.
What you would do
Own the real-time closed loop from sensing to motion — state estimation, predictive control, and trajectory correction. Build control systems that hold up under sensor noise, latency, and real-world uncertainty. Work across arm kinematics/dynamics, trajectory generation, and calibration, and develop sensor-guided and visual servoing systems that connect perception directly to control. Help shape technical direction toward learning-based and whole-body control.
What they are looking for
* 7+ years specifically in robotics manipulation and control, with a first-principles grasp of MPC, Kalman filters, and observability * Proven track record shipping real-time robotic systems on physical hardware — not just research or sim * Strong robot arm kinematics/dynamics and trajectory generation experience, plus visual servoing or sensor-guided manipulation * Perception fundamentals: geometric/model-based vision, 3D sensing, point-cloud registration, calibration * Production-grade C++ and strong ROS/ROS2 experience — non-negotiable * Comfort with hard-real-time concepts: deterministic loops, timing budgets, concurrency, debugging on physical hardware * Senior technical credibility — you'll help set the direction of the control stack
The bottom line
If your background is real robotics, real hardware, real-time C++, and serious control theory — and you want to own the system that determines how a robot actually moves in the physical world — we'd love to talk.
We encourage candidates from underrepresented groups to apply even if you don't check every box — research shows women and underrepresented candidates often self-select out of roles they're qualified for. If this sounds like your kind of problem, we want to hear from you.
