ABOUT AUGUST HEALTH
At August Health, our mission is to empower the essential work of caring for our elders.
We achieve this by providing a modern operating platform and electronic health record (EHR) that enables senior living operators to deliver high-quality care with confidence.
Caregivers are the heart of senior living communities, embodying care, compassion, and well-being. Yet, they face increasing challenges—higher resident acuity, complex workflows, and staffing shortages. At August Health, we build tools that simplify their tasks, eliminate inefficiencies, and provide the insights they need to focus on what truly matters—caring for residents.
At August, we strive to live our values each day, in every interaction with our customers and with each other.
- Be responsible – leave things better than you found them
- Take ownership – be decisive and take action
- Be ambitious – build something great
- Keep an open mindset – communicate candidly and welcome new ideas
- Be humble – celebrate each others’ successes and learn from our mistakes
- Stay positive – assume best intent
At August, data is one of the biggest reasons customers choose us. Everyone who uses August, from caregivers to executives, relies on data to do their job, and their needs keep growing. We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to set the standard for how August turns customer data into insights that drive action.
You’ll build the metrics, reports, and models behind our Insights product, helping senior living operators understand their performance and spot problems early. Working with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success, you’ll show communities how data can simplify workflows, reduce administrative burden, and free caregivers to focus on resident care.
What you would do
- Turn recurring questions into scalable, self-serve reporting so customers and internal teams can find answers without an analyst
- Define and own metrics that help senior living leaders understand performance and compare across communities, regions, and teams
- Build and improve data models that connect information across our products and hold up over time
- Explore trends, patterns, and predictive opportunities in our data, and turn findings into insights customers can act on
- Partner with Product and Engineering to shape our Insights roadmap and bring data into the product itself
- Help find new ways for insights to reach people where they work
- Partner with Customer Success on customer conversations and QBRs, presenting findings as clear, actionable recommendations
- Scope ambiguous questions from leadership and Customer Success into structured analyses with minimal direction
- Raise the bar for data quality, documentation, and analytics practices across the team
What they are looking for
- 6+ years of experience as a data analyst, with advanced SQL and database skills
- Experience writing transformation logic and data pipelines
- Experience designing data models and metrics that stay accurate over time, not just one-off queries
- A track record of independently owning analytics projects from ambiguous question to shipped insight
- Solid understanding of statistics, with some experience building or applying forecasting or predictive models
- Experience building self-serve reporting with BI tools such as Omni, Looker, or similar
- Experience presenting to external stakeholders and working directly with customers
- Strong understanding of data privacy and responsible data stewardship
- Excellent communication skills: you can make complex data accessible to anyone
- Healthcare data experience (EHR systems, clinical data, medical terminology) is a plus; senior living experience is a bonus
