Senior Software Engineer - Query Engine & Database Systems

Celonis is the leading platform for Enterprise AI and process mining. This role is for a Senior Software Engineer on the Core squad of the Process Query Engine team, responsible for developing and maintaining a highly parallelized and distributed analytical database that processes enterprise-scale data sets using modern C++ and Java.

* Develop new concepts and algorithms for data management and query execution in the Process Query Engine * Challenge and benchmark solutions using performance engineering principles to optimize system behavior * Shape and contribute to development and maintenance processes across the team * Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders and customers on technical initiatives * Take responsibility for performance, scalability, and reliability of database systems * Lead projects, define technical roadmaps, and mentor junior engineers

* University degree in Computer Science or equivalent education * Experience in system programming with modern C++ * Solid knowledge in one or more of: Parallel Computing, Distributed Systems, or Database Internals * 5+ years of experience in software development for productive systems (senior-level) * Analytical mindset with strong understanding of performance and algorithms * Excellent English communication skills
