About the role
The IT team at Tide is a small, high-impact group of around 20 people, combining a responsive service desk with strong project-based engineering capability. The team operates in a cloud-native environment, with Google Workspace at the core, and supports a large, globally distributed workforce. The focus is on enabling the business through reliable, secure access to a wide range of SaaS platforms, while continuously improving how services are delivered as the organisation scales.
As a Workplace Technology Engineer, you’ll be a hands-on engineer looking after the platforms and devices Tideans use every day. You’ll work closely with the rest of the team to implement, operate, maintain and improve our core IT platforms by focusing on Configuration as a Code framework.
What you would do
- Operate and improve our core IT platforms. You’ll handle day-to-day configuration, changes and troubleshooting, and deliver improvements within agreed standards and designs.
- Manage our device fleet end to end. That covers provisioning, compliance, patching and retirement of Mac and Windows devices, with a focus on a smooth experience for employees.
- Apply our security controls. You’ll roll out and maintain device trust, DLP and web security policies in partnership with InfoSec, and help troubleshoot when they affect users.
- Support onboarding and offboarding. You’ll make sure access is granted and removed accurately and on time, and help automate the manual steps.
- Automate repetitive work with scripts and the platforms’ built-in automation.
- Act as L2/L3 escalation for the service desk, resolving complex issues and turning recurring problems into documented fixes.
- Contribute to projects, owning workstreams within larger platform rollouts and upgrades.
What they are looking for
- 4+ years in IT or workplace engineering, ideally in a cloud-first organisation.
- Hands-on administration experience with Google Workspace and with Jamf and/or Intune across Mac and Windows.
- Exposure to SSE or web security tools (Netskope or similar) and to Zero Trust concepts such as device trust and conditional access.
