Lynk is looking for a Network Systems Engineer to write the software behind our D2D constellation's network orchestration. This could include traffic routing, resource management, and the simulation environment we use to test both.
This role requires familiarity with routing and scheduling algorithms, protocol behavior in real networks, resource allocation, network simulation, and large-scale distributed or mobile network design, whether gained in satellite or terrestrial systems. The effective candidate thrives equally in owning the detailed design of assigned subsystems and in using simulation and test evidence to challenge and improve the wider architecture.
What you would do
* Implement traffic routing, handover, and congestion management logic against the defined architecture; * Build resource management algorithms for spectrum, power, and buffer allocation across the constellation; * Develop the simulation environment used to exercise orchestration logic under representative traffic and network conditions; * Execute evaluation scenarios, including stress tests, failure cases, sensitivity analyses, and report results against the agreed metrics; * Design and implement network protocols for space-based cellular networks.
What they are looking for
* A Bachelor’s degree (or better) in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; * Experience with telecommunications software implementing GSM and/or LTE protocols; * Protocol stack implementation, testing, and quality assurance experience; * Prior hands-on experience implementing core network protocol stacks or network applications, ability to code across the full stack, strong Linux administration, including scripting; * Open-source tools development, implementation, and/or collaboration experience and source code control systems (Git/GitLab); * Previous hands on experience with Mobile Network operations; * Demonstrated experience working with multiple programming languages (C, C++, Python), operating systems, and development environments.
