Legal Advisor

* Contract Negotiation & Management: Draft, review, and negotiate software licensing, SaaS agreements, partnership contracts, and service agreements with telecom operators and other stakeholders.

* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with telecom regulations, data privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), cybersecurity laws, and export controls in multiple jurisdictions.

* Risk & Dispute Management: Identify legal risks, provide proactive advice, and support dispute resolution, including managing external counsel when necessary.

* Intellectual Property Protection: Safeguard company IP, including software patents, trademarks, and trade secrets, while ensuring compliance with open-source licensing requirements.

* Corporate Governance & Policy Development: Advise on corporate legal matters, employment laws, and internal compliance policies.

* Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): Provide legal due diligence and support for potential M&A or strategic partnerships.

Job Requirements:

* Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) with bar admission in a relevant jurisdiction.

* 8+ years of legal practice, with 8+ years in corporate law, commercial contracts, technology transactions, or commercial deals.

* 1–2+ years of direct telecom domain experience, specifically contracting with telcos or working within a telecom company.

* Strong experience with telecom and enterprise software commercial deals, including SaaS/product agreements.

* Must have experience in a product/SaaS company; IT services/consulting-only experience is not sufficient.

* Strong knowledge of SaaS agreements, telecom regulations, international business law, data privacy, cybersecurity and IP matters.

* Strong contract negotiation, stakeholder management and commercial judgment, with experience representing business interests in live negotiations.

* Excellent communication and articulation skills; comfortable interacting directly with enterprise/telco clients and senior stakeholders.

* Able to operate in a fast-paced, global environment and manage multiple priorities independently.

* Preferred: Currently based in Pune.

* Strong plus: Experience with a Tier-1 direct competitor, particularly Netcracker, Amdocs, Oracle, Ericsson or Nokia.
