Senior Software Engineer (C)

Cato Networks is a converged network and security cloud platform for the AI era. This role is a Senior Software Engineer on the R&D Core team, responsible for designing and developing operating system utilities and components that power Cato's cloud data centers and edge on-premises devices across diverse hardware ranging from embedded systems to high-end servers.

* Design and implement operating system utilities and components to ensure performant, stable, secure, maintainable, and transparent ecosystems in the cloud infrastructure * Stay informed on emerging technological trends in low-level networking, hardware, kernel, and open-source technologies * Implement and specialize open-source solutions to address specific Cato requirements * Investigate and test performance capabilities to maximize hardware utilization across the infrastructure * Work with multithreaded C programming and Linux kernel internals in large-scale network and security solutions

* Minimum 6 years of experience as a hands-on senior software developer working on large-scale network or security solutions * In-depth knowledge of networking, network protocols, and networking environments * Strong proficiency with C programming in multithreaded environments * Deep working knowledge of Linux systems, utilities, customization options, kernel internals, hardware-software interfaces, and system resource management * Experience integrating with open-source software and packages, and implementing new hardware solutions

* Expertise in designing and building highly scalable services, particularly in SMP (symmetric multiprocessing) environments * Passion for understanding and optimizing performance at all levels from Makefile flags and BIOS configurations to integrated holistic solutions * Pioneer mindset for learning and adopting new technologies
