As a **Senior** **Backend Engineer** at Via, you’ll be a vital part of our TLV-based R&D team. Together, we design, build, and scale cutting-edge backend systems that power our global operations. * Architect, build, and scale robust and modern microservices – from initial design through deployment to production. * Own features end-to-end: from concept through development, testing, deployment, and maintenance – with a strong sense of accountability. * Lead system design decisions, define service boundaries, and help shape scalable architecture for global usage. * Write production-grade, efficient code that emphasizes performance, reliability, and maintainability. * Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and design to drive features that deliver real value to users. * Stay ahead of the curve by constantly evaluating and integrating emerging technologies and development practices. * Promote engineering excellence: code reviews, mentorship, clean code principles, and advocating for best practices across the board. * Mentor junior engineers and contribute to growing team expertise through knowledge-sharing and technical leadership.

* B.Sc. in Computer Science (or equivalent hands-on experience). * 6+ years of backend development experience, including building production systems at scale. * Skilled in one or more modern backend languages such as Python, Go, Java, or Node.js, with strong adaptability. * Solid understanding of system design, distributed systems, and fundamentals like data structures, multithreading, and design patterns. * Fast learner with a growth mindset and a passion for innovation. * Strong communicator and a collaborative team player, comfortable leading discussions and initiatives in fast-moving environments.
