About the role
▪ Design and develop comprehensive business and technical architectures for digital solutions to meet business needs, defining measurable non-functional requirements.
▪ Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
▪ Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and frameworks.
▪ Create and maintain key architectural artifacts, including Solution Context diagrams, C4 model views, API contracts, data models, threat models, and deployment diagrams.
▪ Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and reliable.
▪ Guide development teams during implementation phases.
▪ Conduct architecture and code reviews to ensure adherence to enterprise standards and secure coding guidelines (e.g. Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP)) throughout the implementation lifecycle.
▪ Identify and mitigate potential risks and technical challenges.
▪ Assess and incorporate emerging technologies.
▪ Provide technical leadership and support to development teams and other stakeholders.
▪ Define integration patterns (e.g. event-driven, Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP)), data flows, and API standards (OpenAPI/AsyncAPI) to ensure coherent and scalable system interactions.
▪ Incorporate observability (logging, metrics, tracing) and resiliency patterns (e.g., circuit breakers, retries) into solution designs to ensure system reliability and maintainability.
▪ Support the development of security architectures, including identity management, secrets handling, encryption, and conduct threat modelling (e.g. STRIDE) to identify and mitigate risks.
SPECIFIC EXPERTISE AND TECHNOLOGIES
▪ Proficiency in systems and software architecture design.
▪ Knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, OVH) and ability to design architectures that leverage native services to minimise custom development. ▪ Knowledge of enterprise applications and middleware.
▪ Knowledge of microservices architecture and API management (e.g., REST, GraphQL, OpenAPI) to design modular and reusable solutions.
▪ Understanding of database management systems and data modelling.
▪ Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) to ensure continuous integration and reliable deployments.
