Fundraising Consultants advise policymakers and leaders on the impact of their decisions and policies. To do so, they analyze political trends, events, and public policy issues to generate new ideas that solve problems or further interests. They work to understand how different groups of people think about politics, develop political attitudes and behaviors, and participate in the political process. They also use their knowledge of politics to forecast likely outcomes of current events and public policy debates. They also keep up with current events, politics, and news to stay informed of relevant changes or shifts in public interest and to help forecast political, economic, and social trends. Fundraising Consultants study and interpret politics, economics, and public opinion. They use statistics and other information to develop political theories and assessments. They analyze the effectiveness of existing policies, including their impact on governments, businesses, and individuals. Fundraising Consultants work for private organizations, universities, and government agencies.

• Identify and approach potential sponsors, donors, and granters •Develop and maintain relationships with donors •Create and maintain donor database •Plan and execute fundraising campaigns and activities • Conduct research and write proposals • Account for and track donations • Create and maintain financial reports • Gather information for grant proposals • Prepare budgets and financial reports • Maintain donor records and files

• Fundraising experience • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Self-motivated and a self-starter with an outgoing personality • Excellent time management skills • Ability to work under pressure • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously • Ability to work well in a team environment • Ability to work independently • Strong analytical and math skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro and the Internet is a plus
