Senior System Engineer

Coupang Pay, a fintech division of Coupang, is seeking a Senior System Engineer to design, build, and operate cloud and on-premises infrastructure for their payment and financial services platform. This role is central to supporting Coupang Pay's mission to provide innovative payment solutions to consumers and merchants across Coupang's ecosystem.

* Design, build, and operate standard cloud and on-premises infrastructure architecture * Manage and optimize Windows and Linux server systems operations * Operate and manage private cloud systems and backup infrastructure * Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot server key performance indicators; respond to and resolve infrastructure incidents * Design and standardize infrastructure and service automation architecture using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices * Improve service reliability and continuity through infrastructure enhancements * Address financial compliance requirements in infrastructure operations

* Minimum 5 years of system engineer experience * Minimum 3 years of AWS or similar cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and operations experience * Proficiency with Python and Shell scripting, and ability to use REST APIs * Hands-on experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Ansible and Terraform * Experience designing, building, and operating private cloud architecture (VMware, Nutanix, or similar) * Server OS standardization and security policy implementation experience * Linux and Windows Server OS operations experience * DNS and Route53 operations experience

* Experience with fintech infrastructure operations and IT audit compliance * Experience building and operating open-source-based services (Apache, MySQL, Tomcat, Logstash, etc.) * Experience with VM, container, and orchestration operations (Kubernetes, EKS) * Openness to new technologies and a proactive, challenging mindset * Extensive server OS-level troubleshooting experience * Network knowledge including OSI network layers and TCP/IP * Hardware benchmarking, POC, and performance management experience * Infrastructure monitoring setup and operations experience (Zabbix, ELK, Grafana)
