The company was recently acquired by a global information and technology leader. It keeps a startup team and pace, with the data, distribution and resources of a large enterprise behind it.

The role We’re hiring Data Platform Engineers at Senior and Staff level to build the infrastructure that ingests, processes, stores and serves large volumes of legal and financial document data. The platform has to scale with rapid AI development while meeting strict reliability, security and compliance standards.

Both levels are hands-on and write production Python. Level depends on scope:

* Senior builds and owns core systems across pipelines, backend services, databases and cloud infrastructure.

* Staff also sets the platform’s technical direction, leads architecture decisions and helps build out the platform team.

Location: NYC preferred but flexible

At both levels:

* Design, build and optimize pipelines that ingest, transform and distribute high-volume document data

* Build reliable, high-performance backend services and APIs for document storage, retrieval and processing

* Implement data governance, privacy controls, audit trails and regulatory compliance (including GDPR)

* Lead database migrations and improve schema design, query performance and scalability

* Partner with ML and AI teams to support model training, evaluation and inference at scale

* Mentor engineers on architecture, system design and engineering practice

At Staff level, you’ll also:

* Own the data platform’s technical roadmap, balancing scale, reliability, security, compliance and business priorities

* Architect next-generation pipelines and storage systems, and lead technology selection and infrastructure strategy
