This role is critical in bridging the gap between design and production by analyzing engineering drawings and preparing accurate cost estimations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of fabrication processes and the ability to evaluate manufacturability and cost implications of design specifications. *\Key Responsibilities\* * Review and interpret 2D engineering drawings to understand product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements * Analyze Bill of Material (BOM) to identify components, materials, quantities, and sourcing requirements * Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimations for fabrication projects based on drawing analysis and BOM review * Evaluate design feasibility from a fabrication perspective and identify potential manufacturing challenges * Recommend design modifications to optimize manufacturability and reduce production costs *\Required Qualifications\* * Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field * 1- 3 years of experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or cost estimation roles * Strong ability to read and interpret complex 2D engineering drawings (GD&T knowledge preferred) * Comprehensive understanding of fabrication processes including cutting, bending, welding, machining, and surface treatment * Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost calculation *\Nice to Have\* * Experience with ERP systems and costing modules * Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) * Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles * Experience in sheet metal fabrication or structural steel industry
