This role serves as the primary manufacturing engineering interface between Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, and external suppliers to ensure manufacturing readiness, production scalability, and operational excellence across the supply base.
This position requires regular engagement with supplier manufacturing facilities to assess production processes, manufacturing capabilities, capacity planning, quality performance, and operational risks. The role will support both electrical and mechanical infrastructure suppliers and partner closely with supplier engineering and operations teams to drive continuous improvement and support rapid deployment objectives.
What you would do
* Qualify and onboard new suppliers supporting data center infrastructure programs. * Conduct supplier audits, manufacturing assessments, and production readiness reviews. * Evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities, workforce, equipment, processes, and quality systems. * Validate manufacturing processes, tooling, production lines, and factory readiness for new products and suppliers. * Support RFQ/RFP activities by providing manufacturing engineering expertise during supplier evaluations and selection. * Assess supplier capacity, throughput, scalability, and operational performance against forecasted demand. * Lead or support pilot builds, first article inspections, and manufacturing readiness activities. * Conduct regular supplier site visits to identify manufacturing risks and ensure ongoing production performance. * Partner directly with suppliers to improve quality, yield, throughput, efficiency, and delivery performance. * Drive root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. * Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, Quality, and Program Management teams to support deployment objectives. * Identify manufacturing, quality, and capacity risks and develop mitigation plans.
