About the role
Data Science Manager AI-Native Go-to-Market Platform | New York City
We're looking for a Data Science Manager to lead the company's Data Science and Analytics team, a group of data scientists and analytics engineers that serves as the center of excellence for experimentation, metric design, insights, and data-driven decision-making across Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Partnerships. This person will be a key leader in setting product and business strategy, partnering with executives to meet ideas with numbers and set the internal narrative and focus using data.
The team has strong foundations and is at the forefront of AI for data. They've essentially solved self-serve analytics with a custom in-house AI agent. The company is looking for a strong leader with sharp data intuition, product and business acumen, and data storytelling skills who can multiply the team's strategic influence at one of the fastest-growing AI businesses.
What you would do
* Lead and grow the team. Manage and develop data scientists and analytics engineers. Recruit, interview, and onboard top talent as the team scales. Create shared standards for great data work and coach the team to get there.
* Set the technical bar. Hold high standards for experimentation, analysis, insights, metric design, and data modeling, and keep the team at the forefront of AI for data science and analytics.
* Relentlessly focus on impact. Make sure the team works on what actually changes decisions and moves the business, and leave the rest.
* Partner and prioritize across the business. Own staffing across partner areas so every key stakeholder has the support they need, while holding a high bar for impact and pushing back where needed.
* Shape product and business strategy. Use data to directly inform priorities, size new investment opportunities, and identify new directions.
* Define key measurement frameworks. Partner with stakeholders to set business and product goals, and lead the development of key metrics that are properly instrumented and monitored.
* Build deep user understanding. Partner with UX research and customer feedback teams to understand what users, buyers, and prospects want and need.
What They're Looking For
* 2+ years managing data scientists and/or analytics engineers, and 6+ years overall in data science or analytics
