Manager – Production Planning

A Production Planning Manager is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the manufacturing process to ensure that products are produced on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Production Scheduling

* Develop and maintain master production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and customer orders. * Align production plans with material availability and resource capacity.

Material Requirement Planning (MRP)

* Ensure timely procurement of raw materials and components. * Collaborate with the procurement team to minimize delays or excess stock.

Inventory Management

* Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking. * Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams.

Capacity Planning

* Analyze plant and labor capacity to meet production goals. * Plan for peak demands or downtime.

Cross-Functional Coordination

* Communicate with sales, operations, and quality assurance teams. * Resolve conflicts in schedules or delays.

Process Creation and Optimization

* Gap-analysis and bridge the gaps. * Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to reduce waste and increase throughput.

Reporting & KPI Monitoring

* Run production planning meetings and Monthly meetings. * Track metrics such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, inventory turnover, and downtime. * Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly production reports.

* ERP/MRP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) * Analytical thinking & problem-solving * Communication & leadership * Time management * Lean/6σ certification (preferred)
